Homer wrote about the Thracian warriors from the north with

...the biggest and handsomest horses I ever saw, whiter than snow and swifter than the winds,
and a chariot finely wrought with silver and gold.

from the Iliad.

Weliver's Travels
offering Cultural Tours of Bulgaria and beyond...
    Dear Traveler,
Our small group 'traveling seminars' provide culturally rich tours in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere.
Travelers tell us that their learning experiences with local experts make these "much more than tours!"

Alex Palichev, former Bulgarian Deputy Minister of Culture and Chief Engineer and Deputy Director of the Institute for Monuments and Culture is the owner of Festa Tour.  He personally designs the tours, selects the hotels and is our guide and storyteller.  From his vast network of friends and colleagues, he enhances the experience with access to archaeologists, historians, and others able to bring us fresh insight of the region.

Del and I are retired librarians who love to travel. We invite you to explore with us as we host trips to Turkey, the Balkans, Eastern Europe and more....!

   Looking forward to meeting you,
    Del and Evelyn Weliver

-The Valley of the Thracian Rulers that is also the Valley of the Roses
-Music, dance, embroidery, wine, rakia, salads, meals baked in earthen pots
-A government transitioning from Communism to Democracy
